This is long but odd. I sometimes think they must be making a movie in town and I don't know it. I was on the way home today on the Nomad westbound on I-20. There was a wreck and it had all the lanes stopped. I was in the right place where I could quickly take the North I-55 exit so I could double back through town to miss the traffic. One thing I have learned is you can easily spot the idiots in traffic (simple signs) then you can try to avoid them. Once in town, this guy (who was on a cell phone) was obviously in a hurry or impatient was weaving back and forth (almost hit the Nomad) then he would get in the wrong lane and get slowed up then change lanes again. This is the one I decided to keep a close eye on. We made it through the town traffic and he passed me again. Due to construction the lanes went to one lane all the way back to the interstate. That lane normally would allow you to get back on I-20 west bound where you could take the I-55 south exit but due to the construction, the lane would only let you merge onto I-20 just pass the I-55 south exit. This dummy in front of me apparently wanted to go south on I-55 but couldn't. I was watching him and keeping my distance. As soon as we got passed the barricades where you could merge onto I-20 west he slammed on brakes (all 4 wheels left black skid marks) and he did a complete U turn in the middle of the highway (with heavy traffic coming) and went the wrong way back to the I-55 south exit. What a mess but I missed having a wreck because I was thinking "Safety First". LOL. A girl who he almost hit head on (was on the cell phone) was laughing so hard and swerved then almost ran over me. If you want some action, just drive the interstate around Jackson, MS during rush hour. I swear a movie camera must be following me. LOL
Be careful out there!

Hey Bobby, Yeah I hit some of that nasty traffic Saturday riding with my group from Vicksburg to the Hooters/Rock 93.9 Bike Show and Bikini Bike Wash in North Jackson. Man, that was some crazy construction traffic and glad we had bikes so we could detour quickly when we came up on some stalled traffic. On a side note, there were some good-looking bikes at that bike show. The Miller Lite gals washing those bikes weren't too shabby, either. Jamie

More times than I care to remember I have had some dumb@ss either stop in his lane or pull to the right and try to make a u-turn in front of me. I had an old man in a Lincoln town car do it my wife and I in my cage last Sunday. I anticipated what he was going to do and we both sat there and watched in amazement as this old guy flipped a u-ey right in front of us. I'd have t-boned him at 50 MPH if I wasn't paying more attention than he was.

This is why I try to pay attention 360 degrees around me while riding. Watching the idiot in front of you make a U-turn while the idiot behind you talking on the phone runs you down.

Maybe I am just starting to hate people and only change my opinion after meeting them. Maybe that is why I live in the back woods like Mac.

There's something to be said for that. I am becoming somewhat of a misanthrope myself.

Sorry, I forgot you have a hard time with polysyllabic words...
Misanthropy is a general dislike, distrust, or hatred of the human species or a disposition to dislike and/or distrust other people's silent consensus about reality. The word comes from the Greek words μίσος (misos, "hatred") and άνθρωπος ( anthrōpos, "man, human being"). A misanthrope is a person who dislikes or distrusts humanity as a general rule.

Yeah I could live in the big city, but very soon I would run out of wall space to hang hairs... mostly not worth the hangin'
A few years ago i saw things on I-90 i wouldn't have believed if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
Somewhere ahread better than 40 miles, because it was 40 miles to the next exit the traffic was all stop and go. I am talking 6 inches of space to move 6 inches more.
I was cagin it that day, but I got an eye full. people were more than just rude. I sat on a guard rail many times after the traffic seemingly was at a dead stop for a long time.
people would cut one another off for inches, and then that wasn't good enough so the men got out and fisty cuffed their way ahead.
I wasn't one of them and if I was someone many would just be dead, because i don't fist fight, I friggin shoot.
And I won't shoot a fool for cutting me off in any kind of traffic. I know better than to drive/ ride pissed off, and more than once I just pull off the road where ever I am to let off steam, and I won't move to drive/ride again till my issue is over.
Too many times when I have been pissed off thinking about it something else like 60 turkey will present themselves in my path. I don't need to be pissed off when that happens.

I always dread driving or riding through Jackson. There are a bunch of idiots driving there. I make frequent trips through Jackson as my daughter lives in Killeen, TX.
