The rack is a done deal on paper. Dollars not spent.

So now I am interested in using those dollars for a PAIR of lamps ,not led for running and brake only mounted to the saddlebags.

i want it to be under 100 bucko's too... A normal bulb or 2357LL in each one, and no clear lense to light a plate, since there is a plate light on the stock unit.

Ovals might be ok, as tombstones, but just a plain surface mount so I don't need to drill more holes than for mounting and a wire.
That's 3 holes per lamp.

Is there such a beast?

links welcome.. pics welcome too

Something like this but cheaper, no leds, and no clear lenses..

I know you said no LED but the nice thing about some of them is they are flush mount. I had 39 Ford LEDs on my Volusia and they required only 3 small holes 2 for the mount screws, 1 for the wires. The issue on the Nomad is going to get them to mount flat on the radius of the Nomad bags, coupd be tough. Something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vintage-Style-1938-1939-FORD-LED-Tear-Drop-Tail-Lights_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a 2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1205Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trks idZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem2ea6690ebcQQitemZ200 360398524QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAcces sories I've seen them a little cheaper.

Was that 104 bucks for the set? The main reason I don't want leds is the prices I have seen.

I see these are wired for running and brake light function? These might be do able.

What was the base gasket like? Was there any room for fitting on a curve?

I am hoping for 3 holes and no mire cutting, and with a lamp I will be happy with since fixing 3 holes would be no fun later.

I don't need to match the stock lamp, so long as the saddlebag lamps match each other.

I don't want to over power the 2357 I have now either, unless these leds will work accordingly light bright wise, and signal my intent to STOP.

What is your opinion on that?

In your opinion was the other bikes saddlebags flater than the nomad bags are? In other words would you consider these lamps on your Nomad now?

I am capable of making adapter mounts with a curve if I have too, but might need a second set of gaskets for the lights so one set is between the adapter and the bags, the other set as intended, under the lamps.

Looks like a possible depending on your answers..

I think I have the set in the phot downstairs. Let me go look and bring them out to the Nomad to check. I'll be back in a few.

Thanks! Those links will be book marked! it will take some time to check all that out. If you missed my questions above, I would like more insite... On E-Bay I looked at other offerings from that seller. I can't ask him a thing since I don't and won't have any E-Bay account.

I did once, but was hit on by some imposter who tried to rob me and then tried to rob others I dealt with, and it was just too much of a pain for me.

OK I checked them on the Nad bags
In a spot I thought was the most like location with one gasket, the top and bottom of the assembly was 1/8 to 3/16 off the bag becuase of the curve of the bag. The looked good, I may be making a mod soon.

I see these are wired for running and brake light function? Yes, the center one is running/brake the to bag lights were running/turn. On my Vol the 2 little circles were flashing brake

What was the base gasket like? 1/16 rubber (or rubber like plastic) with a 1/8 rim that faces out and seals around the chrome bezel

I am hoping for 3 holes and no mire cutting, and with a lamp I will be happy with since fixing 3 holes would be no fun later. Yes, 3 holes all about 1/4

I don't want to over power the 2357 I have now either, unless these leds will work accordingly light bright wise, and signal my intent to STOP. They were pretty bright, but with most LEDs they are directional so it really depends on the viewers angle to the light.

In your opinion was the other bikes saddlebags flater than the nomad bags are? Initially I would have bet the Nad bags had more of a curve, after trying the lights it wasn't as much as I thought.

In other words would you consider these lamps on your Nomad now? Probably, I think a nother gasket (2 on each light) might be pretty close to doing it.

I think I paid $35-40 each for mine a few years ago but I don't remember where they came from. I know they had 1157 "plugs" on them, I cut them off and went with quick disconnects.

Hope this helps

Are the chome rings metal or plastic? Either way how is the chrome?

Did you buy more than one set? These were on another bike right? and somehow you still have them? Or another set?

I can get a semi dense industrial black plastic compound in different thicknesses.. Maybe we could even meet up somewhere some time, since I am in Tamworth New Hampshire.

I know seeing these in my hand would answer all my questions, and maybe I can come up with the materials to mount the set you have on your bike?

Tamworth is about 15 miles south of the East entrance of the Kanc.. Or more accurately that entrace is apx 15 miles to my door.

I helped a rider with a trike pad up a lift for his wheel chair with that same black foam which I have in apx 1/32" too thin I think, and another if I recall 3/16", but any thickness can be had.

I know the area, I lived in Fremont for 17 years and worked for the NH Public Defender I traveled to offices all around the state - Concord, Manchester, Stratham, Nashua, Keene, Littleton, Orford, Laconia.

BOOOMERS all gone...

""" Totalled the Vol :' (in Sept 07 and pulled them off as part of the strip down. 5 ribs, 4 vertibrea, broken arm and punctured lung """

OUCH

I did something like that back in May 10th 1979, got my neck, a collar bone, 8 ribs herniated disks, punctured lung, and lost my spleen.
