Well it appears from the poll that the date is set for June 14-16. I am still looking at a lodging source and have it down to a couple. Trying to stay away from the $$100 - 120 per night places but still have a nice location.

Mark your calendars June 14-16, 2010 for the Cortez Rally.

Crap! I'm on call for work that week. I'll work something out so I can go. Shouldn't be a problem - plenty of advance notice.

I'll load it into the calender.

( CJ, it is really demoralizing to see the temp at 112 and climbing on your sig line. http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif I had myself convinced it was just a little warm outside. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif Just another reason to go north in the summer. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif )

Give me 11 months from now, and I'll plan on it! :)

Mark, it could be -30 and thinking about going south for the winter.

Its on the calendar. Joel if you haven't done so, contact BigBear he lives there. Also I'm planning on heading that way for a few days at the end of the month. Let me know if I can check anything out.

That is a long time off but will make every effort to get there. Don't know much about Cortez, a little barren I believe but hey, its the SW. It is a good central location for day rides.

Ells,

National was a long way off at one time. ;) Cortez probably isn't as good as Durango but it is cheaper.

Cortez sure is cheaper than Durango, but makes an enjoyable ride if ya want to cruise on over. There is a loop ride that should be considered. From Cortez head to Dolores on to Telluride then over to Ridgeway, Ouray, Silverton, Durango and on around back to Cortez. Georgous views and scenery!

That one will definitely be on the ride itinerary. Along with the 4 corners, wolf creek pass and several others.
