Hi to all new to the site.... wondering if anyone knows if the rear chrome fender rail from a 2005 or older will fit an 08 Nomad. I have been looking for one however no luck for that year. I have the front one however the ones I look at for the rear do not include the 08 year.
Wondering if it would fit as I would have to order one in from the USA and have it shipped to Eastern Canada. Thanks. Take Care

Nope. I have been looking for a rear fender rail for a 1600 for nearly 2 years.
They do make them for the 1500, and I have seen pictures of one modified to "work" on a 1600, but I didn't care for the result and it looked jury-rigged.
Oh, welcome to the Nomad Nation from the Grand Canyon State. Please visit the New Member Introduction area and introduce yourself.

+1....been looking since '05 for one...had a few 'i found one moments' only to realize they were using a picture of a pre '05 Nomad with it on.

Oddly enough the lack of a rear fender rail for the 1600 is the example I always use when griping about the lack of OEM/aftermarket accessories for the 1600, which usually morphs into a tirade about Kawasaki's poor marketing efforts, which then spirals into a rant about what H-D does best.
It's a slippery slope, I tell ya!

Well, the only things HD makes are motorcycles, and that's it! Kawasaki has motorcyles (crotch rockets and motorcross, too, which HD ain't got, jet skis, utility vehicles, among other things. How the hell do you make and market everything equally? As much as you pay for a Harley they should have automatic pilot, windshield wipers, coffee maker, tv,......
Actually kawasaki motorcycles are a sideline industry. Kawasaki heavy industry builds ships and other industrial heavys. Still it is to my amazement that they (and other manufacturers) have only a few accessories for the Nomad that has been on the market for a decade??? ..Bdog

I'm looking at fabricating one from a frt. fender rail. A project for the coming winter. Because I too, have been looking for one since I bought the '06 new.

Just to be sure are we talking about the fillers between the bags and fender?

On the older models of nomads they have a small rail that fits up between the bags. I'm talking about cutting a frt. rail and modifying it to fit in the same way the bag rails fit to the bar at the rear fender. If that makes any sense at all.

I wonder if they did not sell well on the 1500's so they decided not to pursue them for the 1600's??

Well that is it. I am taking the Nomad to the HD stealership and trading it in on a REAL motorcycle. We all know you just posin' if you don't gots da bar and shield. Viva la FL, Viva la Harley, Viva la Oil leaks.

You know, Doc, that 90% of Harley's are still on the road. The other 10% made it home. :)
