Thought you guys might like to know that the 1600 nomad chrome covers for the underside of the passenger floorboards fit perfect on a 1700 Nomad. Have a look at my pic. Cost me $12.60 Canadian for the pair.... eh

What was there as OEM? I see the rear brake cover isn't in chrome either. The tank is a throw back to the 99-04 too...

I really like that color combination. That picture really shows it off.

It was flat black plastic......yuck.... I like this better. The running board covers are Kawasaki part number: 14091-02290. L and R are the same.

Then sheep hides are a fairly cheap way to add tons of hours saddle time. Don't knock it till you try it. The bad part is rain, where i roll mine up, and stuff it somewhere.

I really like it under a hot sun. I just can't stand poached oyster and my wife isn't fond of steamed clam http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Hey drno, your from Lethbridge? We live in Magrath and are headed ove the Logan Pass this morning (Saturday) for a the first ride of the year over the pass. Maybe we'll see you along the way, if not we'll have to catch up to you sometime and have a Nomad chat.

Thanks for sharing dmo. I am going into my dealer on Monday to order a pair.
Please post how your 3 day trip went. I just passed the 1000 km mark on my 1700, had the first oil change, and am ready to try some greater distances. I am interested in your first impressions.
Cheers

Hey cycle cat. Must have just missed your post. Just got back about 4:20pm, Drove though the biggest longest downpour ive ever seen in my life today from the Carway boarder xing through Cardston to spring coulee where I couldnt see th hi-way anymore, was in 3rd gear on the shoulder at 20-30km, and we finnally took shelter for an hour in that feed elevator on the first road there. Man we were soaked inside and out lol. We were warming our hands on the engine covers lol !! There were cars pulled over all over the place and here we were putting along .... bad news, I couldnt see though my yellow lens bobster OTG sunglasses and I dropped them on the hiway somewhere...... that really sucks..... We should get together for a timmys and a chat sometime. Imm pm u my contact info.

I have about 2800km now, Did about 900km on this trip, that bike is awesome, im not tired or sore at all. averaged 41.2pmg on the trip. Took hwy 5 south from Lethbridge to Cardston then onto 2 south to carway, then the US89 all the way to Great Falls. Great great ride man. Was very tempted to go west at St Marys over the logan, but wify wants so save that for the next run to kalispell. I have a progresive suspension airshock balance kit on the rear end with an air guage , ran about 15-18 psi of air, set the dampning to 4, and it rode like a caddy. Engine pulls great, runs smooth, trans during a shift can make a clunk, 1-2,2-3, but I find I have to learn the sweet spots and its not too bad when I hit it right on. Handles great, brakes are good, not much fade on long down slopes, and worked about the same in the heavy rain. Tires worked great in the rain, very positive confident feel. Im running 41 in the rear and 40 in the front. Changing the grips on Friday to those Kuyrican Iso grips, the stock ones work ok, but those others are alot larger in diameter and are nice and comfy. I put a wolo badboy airhorn on it a week ago and it came in real handy down south.
