Well I seen that Harbor freight had the tire changer on sale so with the aid of a 20% coupon I made the purchase. Total for both the std. changer and the MC tire adapter it was 85.00 Used it over the weekend and it works great, especially the bead breaker. This is worth the $$$'s for sure if you like changing your own, or for me other's as well.
I have just bought too, the dyna beads and I'm going to add them to mine on the Nomad, the demonstrations I've seen for these are very cool!

I have one also, and the bead breaker works great. I havn't used it to demount or mount a bike tire because I didn't want to remove the wheel bearings to fit the centre post through. Ive changed car tires with it and it was pretty slick with them .

Yeah you need to have the MC tire adapter to make it easy, and no bearing removal then.

I have the MC adapter (supposed to be the same as the HF one but from Princess Auto in Canada) and I still would need to remove the bearings. The HF one must be a bit different.

My wife ordered me the motorcycle adapter last Christmas and it hasnt arrived yet. From time to time I get a card from HF asking me to cancel the order. In my opinion, Harbour Freight is one of the worst places to order stuff. It takes forever to get your order. My 2 cents.

Hmmm that's odd? Mine when you add it on to the base there still is a about 3/4" hole that I insert one of the round solid bars down into it, and that gives me a place for the tire iron to hit against to peel the tire off the rim. Mine must be different ??

Sorry for your bad experience with HF, I would try and contact them as they do have these instock at the stores. Let them know how long it has been and you would like to have it soon. Maybe you can light a fire under the right person then.

I have had one for several years and like Joe I don't have to remove the bearings and have changed a lot of tires on it. Just mount them pour in some dyna beads and go http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

The one they sell here must be different, even though the pictures look the same. It comes with one bar and it is too big to fit through with the wheel bearings. I did get a second one from a shop here , but I need I need to get it turned down a bit because it is too big still. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a lathe so have to pay a machine shop and they are a bit pricey around here so have not done that yet.

I do have the bike adapter, the Harbour Freight one must be a bit different than the Princess Auto one.
