Miss sandy and I have been offered a Summer job as Camp Host at Cave Springs/ Pine Flat Campgrounds between Flagstaff and Sedona, AZ. Job goes from 1st of March through 15th of November. There will be other couples sharing responsibilities. The job includes full hooks-ups and pay. We have a 32 ft. fifth-wheel RV with three slides and I'd also pull the 1600 for riding time. Decision hasn't been made. What do you think?

If I had that opportunity I'd be packing up as we speak! Go for it!!!

Man, that's sweet! That must be the campground in Oak Creek Canyon? I live about 2 hours S of there. That is a beautiful area up there.

If I were in your current situation coon.......(retired, carefree, no responsibilities, living the life of riley and rich beyond belief), it would be a no brainer.

I've got to go along with Nico....I'd be packing right now.

I've taken many a bike trip and stayed in many parks. I've talked with many hosts in those parks and they have all said they love doing that. They wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have had the same experience as Trip.

About the only thing that I would be worried about is time off. The campground that I usually went to, both for camping and as a motorcycle ride near home, always had the same hosts there. It seemed as if they never left.

I might get a little stir crazy if I couldn't take off at times.

Hmmm. temporary transfer to the Western Region's rolls seems to be in order soon. May be just the person to rein in Nico & BD.

OK, Thanks for all the input guys and gals. good hearing from everyone. I know this sounds great and it is. However it is very sudden and there are alot of things to be thought out. We are going to down size on home and pay off some stuff and do this thing on our time schedule. We have gotten two more offers since the one in Sedona so there is plenty out there.

The same way I tow it anywhere else , with a 1T Dodge and my little 370 lb m/c trailer. Can't even tell it's back there. I have a camera watching it from cab and length is legal. I don't know about Cal. though.

Where do you find out about these kind of summer camp counselor jobs? Sometimes those folks are kind of surly, don't know why. But most seem to be having a good time of it. As long as I didn't have to chop firewood all day, I could probably do it.

I think you may have missed it. It's a RV Camp Host. All you do is take the money, see that they're parked in the right spot, keep 'em quite at night and get them out when their money runs out.

Coon,

This is something me and hubby are considering doing in the future. He can retire this summer but thinking about hanging in there one more year. I am a nurse and have done travel nursing in the past. I could get an assignment...they would give me a stipend in lieu of furnishing an apartment and he could work as camp host. So essentially he works for the camp site and my stipend to help make the RV payment.

We have been looking at 5th wheel and RV toy haulers. The trailer you pulled the Nomad on is a single bike? Could we haul a Nomad and Goldwing that way? That's the one drawback to the toy haulers...the living space they take up. I'm leaning more toward the 5th wheel and hubby leaning more toward RV.

Coon,

More questions? Have you ever gone thru a state that did not allow piggy-backing or stopping to check you length? What is the legal length total for pulling 5ht and trailer or rv and trailer?
