View Full Version : How Many Miles Roundtrip?

MarkG

How many miles did each of us travel?

My best guess is between 250,000 to 300,000 miles when we total all the planned routes and side trips each of us made. Might be interesting if each of us posted our roundtrip mileage.

I'll post my total after I get home the end of June. The rally was definitely enjoyable. Trip is going to be very busy sorting through the pictures all of us will be sending him. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I didn't really keep track. Let see, 300 there and 300 back, 260 to Devils Tower and 250 to the Badlands and another 100 doing a couple of short runs. Looks like around 1200 and I took Wednesday off and drove a mini-van all day.

I have come to the conclusion that Greta prolly tells the truth, but it is operation error/interpretation error that caused the problem. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

OK...here are the "stats" from the trip...will post in the thread we were talking about this too if I can remember which one it was.

Total distance - 4275.9 miles
Overall Avg - 30.9 mph
Moving Avg - 51.6 mph
Max Speed - better not put that one ::) , but pretty good
Total Moving Time - 82hrs 46 mins

For the trip, I averaged around 38mpg, which is not bad running 70-75 mph with the tfi settings I have. Max I got on a tank was almost 43 mpg.

I think The Clampet Mobile got around 26 mpg most of the time...of course going down hill it did a lot better, lol.

Got home this morning. Only did 3,788 miles, I thought it would be more. Averaged 42 mpg for most of the trip. High was 50 going downwind and the low was 38 going into it. Saw every kind of weather imaginable. A 100 degree temperature shift, high to low and back. I was lucky enough to miss the hail and tornadoes. Everything else from clear, rain, snow, sleet, etc., I was in at one time or another. Had a lot of fun, looking forward to the next trip.

Better late than never??? Oils changed, broken hyper charger is fixed but the mistery of where both bolts holding down the rear of the fuel tank disapeared to is yet to be solved??? Left Jacksonville at 14,501 and rolled back in on 18,998 so total miles logged was 4,497 but about 350 of those were in and around Custer. Great ride, sorry we couldn't stay for the dinner but gettting back to Florida by Sunday evening meant leaving before Friday.

Yeah, espesially since after riding from Prescott to Vegas through the hell fires of Bullhead City, AZ the bike started making a klickity klick, the oil light came on when I hit Vegas and the cure was a quart of oil.

With 30 or riders listed the total is just a little less than 100,000 miles. The average works out to around 3,200 miles each. A good guess is that we collectively rode around 176,000 miles give or take a bit to have a fantastic good time for our 1st rally. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
