For those wearing earphones

If you use some type of earphones on your bike,
What do you do with the cord to keep it from floating around in your face?

I put a ram mount for my ipod on and the cord going from my earphones to the ipod floats in the breeze at highway speed.

I have an extension cord and ran it under the tank and into my tank (tuxedo tie) pocket. The cord never gets in my way now.

For now I put my ipod in my drink holder and wire goes inside my jacket so only 2 ft hanging out and it rides well.

I usually keep my Ipod in the inside jacket pocket, or on a belt clip if Im not wearing a jacket and run the cord underneath up through the collar. This is good enough most times since the battery lasts a lot longer than most of my rides. On other trips I have a FM transmitter that uses the radio speakers in the fairing.

I clip my ipod to me and tuck my cord in my shirt. I don't have all the fancy screens, I use an ipod shuffle, about 1" square and the battery lasts about 12 hours.

That's cheating Ring. If I had a fairing I wouldn't have this problem. There would be a stereo with an aux jack for the ipod and the ipod would be attached to the fairing. wouldn't need earphones. Don't have the cash or time to set that up before custer.

I usually keep it in a pocket in my jacket but got a ram mount and wired an outlet for power because the battery won't last from here to custer and I need to plug in power.

I use either helmet speakers, earbuds or clip-on earphones. I route the wire underneath my shirt (or vest or jacket). I have a headphone extension cord that I plug into at the front of my seat, which is in turn plugged into my Zune which is mounted in a RAM mount.

I only use my I-Pod on the really boring parts of longer ride's and never in city traffic, but when I do I'm usually on a longer trip and I use a tour master tank bag for maps and all the little things. I attache the the I-pod to the top of the map sleeve on the tank bag, and route the wire up through the bottom of my jacked. Before I get going I pull the slack out of the wire giving enough to easily move my head in all direction with the full face helmet on. It still leaves about 6 inches of wire to fly around but it never interferes with my sight picture.

Ya know that extension wire under the tank is a good idea. And it just so happens that I will have my tank off next week so I will have the opportunity to route one of those.

No. At least not that I can tell.

I use the earphones with my Zumo and I have also had the problem of the cord flying up. It can be distracting. What I do is use one of those metal and flexible plastic ID card clips. I run cord through the plastic loop part and then clip it to my jacket, down low, about mid way to my waist. My earbuds have a 3 foot cord and there's enough slack to move about comfortably. I can't turn all the way around at a stop to grab something behind me but, I've never had a need for that. Seems to work well for me.

For riding I just use a simple Philips mp3 player that goes inside my vest pocket and the cable comes our right by the neck; not in the way at all.

I wear a 1/2 helmet most of the time so I don't hear anything but the sound of my pipes and the roar of the wind.

NO.

I run the cord inside my jacket and clip the ipod in the top of my chaps or in the tank bag. I don't generally make any adjustments once I start riding.

Run the cord inside the shirt and use the earplugs that clip over the back of the ears. Tried the kind that stick in the ear but they pop out at the wrong time. :-/
