Just curious what others do. I put mine in my tail light lens. It fit well on top of the reflector in there. Can't see it from the outside, don't know if the plastic melted , but with a small phillips screwdriver I know I won't be SOL.

Ive never carried a spare key on the bike, but it seems like a good idea, especially if your far from home or on a long trip. I think I'll get one hidden before to long.

On local riding I don't carry a spare. On trips wife keeps one in her bag.

A few months back, I pulled into a gas station on the Nad but had the key for the Classic (I never use the key in the ignition). I Had to call and have the right key delivered for fuel, and I've been thinking about where to carry a key since. I haven't figured it out. Maybe your idea will work for me????
My spare key is mounted with a plastic tie to the inside of the right side panel. It's not readily accessible because one has to have a phillips screw driver to get the panel off and get to it.

I keep my spare key in my wife's saddle bag and she keeps her spare key in my saddle bags. Hopefully we won't loose our keys at the same time!!! ::) But then sh*t happens..... :-/

I unzip the zipper on the backrest pad cover and slide the spare under there and zip it closed.

That's not a bad idea... right now I keep my key on a clip...so it's always with me... as for the spare..so far I've kept it in my wallet, it's just a little bulky there.

Mine is in my wallet. Trip's idea sounds pretty good though.

Great idea because I have this neat little phillips on my key chain, oops!

in my wallet
Friend of mine bought a used Honda a while back. He had a flat and while changing the rear tire found a key tie-wrapped to the frame.
I like the backrest idea.

Cindy keeps it in her handbag. She's no where near as klutzy as I am. I would lose the damn thing.

I have kept mine in the backrest since day one. Learned on my Honda the hard way.
Ya,I LET my wife carry one after all she owns half the bike.lol
Wallet wouldn't do me much good since I keep it in my saddlebag when I ride but thanks for all the other good ideas. I have a spare for all my other cars in a magnetic box. I've locked my keys in my car probably about 100 times. Definitly have to put the spare ON the bike somewhere.

Try cutting the rubber off the spare key, it will be a lot less bulky in your wallet that way.

Apparently I've hidden it so well I can't find it. I was looking for it this weekend, and couldn't find it!

I know where it is! It's in the same place where my wife puts everything and then can't find it . . . A SAFE PLACE !!

If I eventually get over there I will know where to get a loaner from now (-:
In my boot. Doesn't bother me when I'm riding, and reminds me to take the key out of the ignition as soon as I step on the ground.

When I'm going over night I keep it in my in my sisybar bag. Otherwise it's at home. I like the ty-wrap under a side cover idea.

Wow, now you guys have me worried. I don't have a spare key for my bike or my truck, and have never carried one ever.
Sounds like a good idea after reading the posts, just not something I've thought of in all my years of riding. Got the gears turning now though.

I have always had a spare key straped to the underside of my 4 wheel vehicles. It has come in handy on more than one occasion. I usually cut a small nick in the plastic tie where it can be broken by hand. There are plenty of ready made holes in the frame and body for zip ties. Now I think I will do the same with the scooter.

Beezer, is it really true that your spare used to be Nico's butt plug?
