View Full Version : Kawasaki Scavenger Hunt...Who wants to play?

Ok I tried this on another forum I frequent but for some reason no one is biting. I will put it here and see what kind of interest there is.

Since the weather is finally cooperating and we are all out on the road I'm proposing that we do a photo scavenger hunt involving our motorcycles. I have seen this done on other forums and I thought it was pretty cool, plus we get to get out and meet some new people and show off our motorcycles with the thing we seem to like the most...pictures.

If you are playing you must be the first to take a picture of your motorcycle with the target and post it to win. No old photos allowed, the pics must be current! We will go on the honor system.

The winner will then post a new hunt, and it's Game On again!

The targets must involve the motorcycle in the photo in some way.
Please keep the targets legal, rated G or PG-13 and something all riders everywhere can do. The idea is to have fun and be creative.

Rules:

1- No photoshopping allowed.
2- Pictures can only be used once. Each target requires a new picture.
3- No old pictures (past rallies, vacations, etc).
4- All targets must be in the same picture.
5- The first correct picture posted after the target is posted is the winner.
6- If you win, you get to pick the next target/hunt (use your imagination).

Sooooo....with that in mind, here is the first target/hunt:

Target #1:

Take a picture of yourself, your bike, and a fully uniformed Military member, all together. If you are in the military, you have to get a buddy with you in the pic. Any military service (Army, Navy, Coastie, etc), and any country is okay as long as they are in uniform!

Now lets get out and have some fun and go get your pic.

Oh yea if I put this in the wrong spot forgive me and Mods please feel free to move it where it should go.

Ed

Jag, it sounds like a fun game. I don't know any military people, or even where a recruitment center is, so I don't think I'll be a winner on this one, but I'm game to play.

Cool idea. I've seen it on nother board some time back.

My "scavenger hunt" for the trip to Custer & beyond will be the Red Knights "Grand Tour". To successfully complete, requires photo of rider & bike in front of fire stations of locations beginning with the first letter of the word GRAND TOUR within a single riding season. A variant to Grand Tour is RED KNIGHT. I figure I'll pass enough places to cover both versions. The prize after submitting application and photo documentation is a commemorative pin .

Dmamn, this DOES sound like a cool thing to do. Only one problem for me...I'm really getting crapped on lately....Even when I get my bike back from the shop in a couple of days, I won't be able to ride.

My left shoulder is really screwed up...most likely the rotator cuff. I'm probably out for awhile but, won't know until Friday at teh earliest. Having an MRI tomorrow afternoon, the doc will see me after that. First the tank now this!! Since things happen in three's what's next?

I won't be able to get a picture with someone in the military until May 30th at the earliest; and that is only if I ride my bike on that day.

May have to do that if no one comes through by then. (I am part of an air show in Janesville, WI on May 30th, and 31st. We are hosting the Blue Angels. There will be plenty of military personnel around.)

Woo whoo! I got one.

That is a Hooters sign behind my head.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y237/dantama/motorycle%20posts/reflection.jpg

But then, just to be sure nobody cried foul, I went in and asked for the girl with the most cleavage and told her I'd get extra points if she was in the pic :)

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y237/dantama/motorycle%20posts/onegirlcropped.jpg

And then I told her that if she'd get a friend, I'd get double the points http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y237/dantama/motorycle%20posts/IMG_5206.jpg

And then I told them I would get 10,000 bonus bonus points if they would......... http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

So, the next one you don't need pets or certain restaurants.... anyone can do it.

Go to a public place where it is obvious you shouldn't be parking a bike (not on a road, something like pavers or a sidewalk etc.) It needs to be a place that you shouldn't be, not just a place at work where you can be, but others aren't supposed to. A place YOU shouldn't be either.

Example:
In front of fountains, sidewalk in front of the police station, inside a grocery store lobby, inside a stadium, etc. etc.

Let's see what you get!

You know that a Nomad can't go that fast. There is no way you did this. You are lying like you did on another forum. Fess up bub. Oh and I know this cause of my extensive MC experience of 11.5 months. Yeah, you can't handle going up against someone that has that level of experience. Bow down to my awesomeness.

Sorry couldn't help it. :) For all of you in the dark, reference (http://www.okshooters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60293&highlight=Darkside)

isaiahsdad

David, there really isn't any place around here that I would consider 'good riding'. I like going around Draper, or out to Thunderbird, but that is really about it. I like heading down to Bricktown on Friday or Saturday nights. There is always something going on down there. Heck, it seems like all the highways around Oklahoma city are under construction all at the same time. I went for a late night ride last night and hit every construction zone I could find, not on purpose either.

I will tell you this though, Route 66 is always a good ride, no matter which direction you choose to go. Kim and I head out to Pops at least once a month, and do about 50 miles down 66. It is a real nice ride. But me, I just like to ride. You would be surprised at how many miles I have put on just going around my own neighborhood. Here the past few days, the only time I feel like riding is after midnight, when the temp gets below 90. We are supposed to have a cold front come through the next couple of days and get us back down to the 90s so I hope to hit the road again soon, not that I am a fair weather pilot, just don't like anything over a hundred.

If you do come to town, give me a yell. I'd be happy to have you over for a beer. SDarkRage and Lil Nicky live across the street, you could come check out there gun collection, and a collection it is. We all just hang out and try not to let the heat get to us. Oh, and about that 'other' site, I take it with a grain of salt. This place has a far better class of people, and know how to respect one another.

Dougster, you should read some of the other stuff that goes on there, Lord have mercy, and these people carry guns. I got hooked in at first but after a while, well, you know what I am talking about. It is very entertaining though. The thread I started about the darkside was just a little tiny tip of the iceberg. You would be surprised at how many experts about everything there are on there. It will leave you scratching your head sometimes.

Back on topic. Didn't mean for this to get so far off the subject. Was just really cracking a joke about the 120mph deal. I have not been above 80 on mine. Don't have the need to go that fast. Can Nomads really go that fast? Any how, sorry guys. Find a Trooper. Have fun.

Don, I know what you mean! It seems to be a common malady on the internet. Entertaining and also sharpens your thinking sometimes. Makes me think about my own opinions and their validity, as well as how clearly (or unclearly) I may be presenting them!

07-15-2009, 01:58 PM
Yeah it is entertaining. I don't go much to OKShooters anymore. I have some people I keep in contact with on there, but mostly I use it to buy and sell and to keep up with the competition stuff as I shoot IDPA, Steel Challenge, and Practical Rifle.

Well Don, you need to get over this way. Lots of good back roads rolling through the hills all of them twisty. I don't hardly get over your way due to the fact there isn't much to ride and Tulsa is closer. :) Might just have to make a special trip though. I do loves me some blued steel. :)

I like the ride down highway 2 from 40 to the Talemena pass, and down the pass to 35. That is a real nice ride.
