Do the ear "speaker" on these units plug into the "box" or are the hard wired?

Here's my thought...I wear a half helmet and usually without the neck flap........I wanna buy a communicator and either splice sound canceling earbuds in, or if possible, just plug them in.

The speakers are hard wired along with the microphone. I'm sure you can get an adaptor (radio shack ?) that will allow you to turn it into a "quick disconnect". I'm thinking of doing that to my set. I just got mine about aweek ago.

Sounds like a hard wire splice with some shrink tubing then...Thanks henry.

Scala has an installation kit to adapt the headset to a half helmet.
