Ive noticed that I have fine swirl marks on my paint , primarily the tank. Does anyone have a favorite wax that eliminates this. It seems black is the hardest color to keep up and anything I have used doesn't really last more than a few days at best.

There are lots of good products on the market. It's a matter of trying them and deciding for yourself. I use Crystal Glo on my bikes. It's a little pricy, but it does what it says it will do. Guess what, it's made in Canada. You can gat the swirls out with Scratch X.
I like the S100 products. They offer a pre wax product that will remove some swirl marks!! Works good for me..
Here's a tip I learned a long time ago when I had a black El Camino. Apply the wax, allowing it to dry. Sprinkle corn starch over the dried wax before buffing it out. No more swirl marks.

I found the Meguiar's Step 2, Deep Crystal polish followed by Harly (not affiliated with H-D) carnauba paste wax.
Makes it look wet and gets the swirls out.

That corn starch does take the swirls out of a Black bike. Mine happens to be Grey and believe it or not, Lemon Pledge has removed most of my scratches after a few years.

My Show cars get nothing but "Craftsman, Clear Pro" available from sears. If you really get after it, you can raise a little color so be careful around edges and pointy things. It will remove swirls, and small scratches and with a orbital buffer totally refinish, renew old paint. To get out swirls, just apply with a soft cloth rubbing until swirl is gone and then buff. Quick and easy. It also removes boot scratches from the hard bags.

I hate those boot scratches when you just didn't lift your foot high enough to clear the hard bag. Those scratches do take something with a little more bite that polish.

Ringadingh,
Here's the deal: ALL those recommended in previous replies are good and will work. So, to branch off into the application/removal, here's what I've been told and seems to work for me:
1. apply in an over-lapping circlular pattern;
2. remove in perpendicular (ie, some strokes foward and back, others in up and down strokes). Not sure why this works, but it does for me. Bottom line: DON'T remove the wax in overlapping circular strokes.

My black/silver '05 does the same on the tank mainly even using microfiber clean cloths and keeping it quik detailed nearly daily. Hope some of the above ideas will work, will try a few

Thanks guys for some great suggestions, I'll give them a try before to long. That idea about using corn starch is really interesting. Its just as weird as using black pepper to fix a rad leak, beleive me it works. Shep ; I'll see if I can find some Clear Pro, it really makes your trucks and car look fantastic. Its a nice collection you have there.
3M Finesse is the best stuff on the market I think for removing swirls.
