Being the patriotic American and former Marine that I am, I have been doing my duty to keep the aftermarket parts and accessories vendors afloat during these tough economic times. I was PMing with another member here and I made the comment "I buy so much shiny crap for my bike, it's hard to keep track (of prices)."

Here's a list of things I have bought for my 2007 Nomad, in no particular order:

1. Kuryakyn large ISO pegs
2. MC Enterprises front fender rail
3. Mustang 3 piece studded wide touring seat
4. Mutazu DMY trunk
5. Wompus rack
6. (2) Piranha red LED lights for Mutazu DMY trunk and wiring
7. Audiovox CCS100 electronic cruise control
8. Fire and Steel water pump cover
9. Chilhowee leather tank bib
10. Chilhowee leather lever covers w/fringe
11. (2) Chuckster's 7" backing plates (l and r)
12. (2) K&N 60-1320 7"x2" air filter assemblies
13. Chuckster's 3" risers
14. Chuckster's large lower wind deflectors
15. Cobra FI2000R fuel processor module
16. Centech AP-2 accessory fuse block
17. Generic 6 fuse accessory block
18. CWI Billet mount driving lights
19. Optronics 2" silver bullet driving lights
20. 3 piece 1-1/4" brackets for Optronics lights
21. Showchrome accessory handlebar switch
22. RAM mount w cradle for Microsoft Zune
23. Cobra saddlebag side rails
24. Cobra billet "Vulcan" license plate frame
25. (4) LED running lights to replace front/rear reflectors
26. Chuckster's trailer hitch assembly
27. Hoppy 46255 powered taillight converter
28. Emgo 12v accessory outlet/lighter
29. Flip-a-lever throttle lock
30. Kuryakyn ISO grips
31. Stebel nautilus air horn almost forgot!

I think that's all. The list didn't include the trailer I built, replacement of maintenance parts (tires, etc), tools for the Nomad (Idaho jack adapter, 22mm hex bit for front axle), clothing (helmets, gloves, jackets, t-shirts, boots, etc). Nor does it include stuff I've bought and no longer use or have sold.

I am afraid to put prices with these items for fear of what the total will be. ::)

Well, so much for that exercise...

Truthfully, my bike is now about as blinged out as it's going to get. The only other thing I might add would be a fairing, but I'm still on the fence about that.

I guess I'll have to pass the chromaholic torch to one of the new guys here.

I was also planning on trying to help stimulate the economy. I bought the bike new a almost two months ago, about two weeks after that i bought my cobra "true duals" exhaust system and a chrome laydown tag holder.
I was going to order a set of either 1.25" or 1.5" diameter 16"ape hangers and extended cables. However, since i'm planning on riding to Sturgis I think my mod money is going to be reassigned http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I'm pretty sure Netnorske has you beat... ;)

I have sent my agents to his house to slap him with a wet salmon or two, but frankly that plan backfired. So many cats have congregated at his door for the salmon that the man now has more pu**y than he'll ever need.. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

C'mon Kris, fess up! It's good for your therapy! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Edit: Now in all fairness I'll post up what I've done, which isn't much.

(Bike came with the V&H baggers and lightbar)

Kuryakyn Dually Pegs w/longhorn offsets
Kuryakyn ISO Grips
Saddlebag liners (forgot the site - not the Kawi ones)
Clearview 23.5" windshield
GPS mount
12v socket plug
Walmart License Plate Frame.

That's it. No credit card to my name though, so that makes impulse shopping a little more difficult.

I think yours were centech. Are different ones of different quality. I have not done much research on them yet.. I think gadget has a link to something beaver.. big beaver.. bald beaver.. I can't remember.. something beaver. Just don't know the opinions if one is better than others for whatever reason..

Yes the Showchrome switch with 2 black buttons and 2 red indicator LEDs. I paid around $80, I think they are closer to $90 now. I don't know that one accessory block is any better than the next. I liked the AP-2 from Centech, so that's what I used.

I'm sure that many have me whipped on bling. Here's what I've done so far not in order:

1. Kuryakyn Dually Iso Highway pegs with offsets
2. Saddlebag top rails
3. Saddlebag bottom rails
4. Valkyrie exhaust tips
5. BrakeAway throttle lock
6. Chuckster trailer hitch
7. Hoppy 46255 tail light converter
8. Alumalite Super Sport trailer
9. Dobeck TFI fuel processer
10. Self-made trunk bracket ($135 chrome job)
11. Mutazu DMY trunk pewter pearl color with top rack and wraparound backrest
12. Kuryakyn Triple Whammy Run / Turn / Brake light kit
13. Kuryakyn Deep Bezels for front signal lights
14. Passenger floorboard extensions
15. Rider and passenger seat modifications by Mean City Cycles

As CJ said, my list doesn't include normal maintenance and replacement items such as tires, etc. I'm sure my list totals up to well over $2,000. I'm not that curious to add all of the receipt up.

I am pretty much the anti-bling guy. The only things I have added are a mustang seat, PH Customs tank bib and a rudimentary cup holder. I never liked chrome as you always have to polish it and as far as gadgets go, it more to keep on top of and more that comes out of my penurious pocket. As far as stimulating the economy, I bought a Suburban last weekend. That has more gadgetry than I care to talk about. The funny thing is I work in IT. You'd think I'd love the stuff. :)

I said before I bought my bike the first of March that I wouldn't add any modifications to it. Man, was I dreaming. So far I got
1)Saddlebag top rails
2)Kury ISO flame grips
3)Kury large highway pegs
4)Vista Cruise
5)Chrome Nomad emblems
6)Edmonds' larger lowers
7)Chrome Southern Cruisers tag holder
8)Chrome Kruzer Kaddy (cupholder, mainly sunglasses holder)
9)Cell phone holder
10)Garmin 500 with RAM mount
Hey, what can I say? I'm just a beginner!

All that bling add up in a hurry, but its so much fun getting it and installing the stuff. I think Ive run out of stuff to do, although Ive been thinking of adding a set of gauges in the fairing.

Hey ! I thought I might have a problem buying bling. Geeze I'm not even close to you guys. A lot of mine has been 2nd hand. Hey netnorski {Kris} you can come out now. You really don't have a problem compared to some of these guys.

+1 ringadingh. I put a lot on in my first month and it was great.. beer fridge was a rockin! Some late nights, some D'OHS, some quick posts for conformations from you all here, some more time in the beer fridge.. Friends stoppin by. good thing the weather was not the best in april. spent more time wrenchin than riding. I think mine is about done for the summer though.. Last thing I am working on is bending up my own trunk bracket to I can use my hand rails.. will be black for now, but I'll get it chromed in the off season. anyone here chromed their rims?? back to the topic though, it was definately fun buying, shoppin, bidding and installing everything. Plus, this site and the people on it make it even that much better..

Its something about the bike that is different from other vehicles, I don't mind working on it, cleaning it, or buying stuff for it, to me it almost all as good as riding it.

Since I bought mine with a few cosmetic issues, I have helped the economic status of the private party sector. Searching for replacement parts and saving a few bucks over retail in the process. I'll let everyone else buy the bling. I may have a different attitude if I had bought my Nomad off the showroom floor. But, I think my ride appreciates being given a 2nd chance with parts that have seen roads that I will likely never see. Some soul from other Nomads.

All this in the last 10 months.....when you put it on a list like this it reveals an addiction (I don't want to be cured) and explains why I am broke http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

But all this said....I bought the bike used...I made a bunch of new friends...have a had a blast so far AND even with all these expenses I only have $10,000 including the cost of the bike wrapped up into it.

Do you think many Harley Road King owners can say that?

So far this bike gets much more use and I get far more enjoyment than any of the other toys (boats, wave runners, dirt bikes, etc) I have bought over the last few years.

Can't wait to see Netnorske's list...he is probaby afraid to post it because members will threaten to show the list to his wife if he doesn't buy the beer in Custer http://s2.images.proboards.com/lipsrsealed.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif :-/...oooh...did I say that out loud?

Hi Cory,

Just wondering how the license plate holder worked out for you. Do you have a photo?

I think BC plates are the same size as Alberta's so I might just order the one you have.

Thanks,

Elvis

It works great. Most dealers in Canada sell the right one, I think almost all Canadian bike plates are the 5"x8" plates, so that is the important part for us.

The part numbers for the CWI items are:

02-34014 - for the inclined plate adapter
05-34004 - for the plate frame (not required but looks nice) http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

I don't have any pictures of that specifically, I will try and get one later today.

Cory,
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I'm currently in Ft. McMurray but will be home this weekend. I'll measure my plate then.
To mount the CWI plate holder, did you have to modify anything or did you simply use the 3 bolt base.
Cheers,
